Ancient building with a charming view on Castiglione and the Lake Trasimeno.
This structure has recently undergone restoration works and is now divided into comfortable apartments of various size (from two to six beds), each of which has its own independent entrance and heating system. The apartments in this two levels structure, are furnished with antique furniture, fired brick pavements, and beautiful ceilings with beams at sight; each apartment is provided with beach umbrella, garden table and chairs. Within the 8.000 sqm mediterranean park there is a large swimming pool (7.5 x 15m), a tennis court, a children’s playing area with slides and a swing and volleyball net. Parking lot and a barbecue are also at our guests disposal.
Pets are welcome if cared for and if they don’t disturb other guests. La Bandita is at 2 km far from Castiglione del Lago, 40 km from Perugia, and 70 from Assisi and Siena. Rome and Florence can be reached in a bit more than one hour by train.
La Bandita gladly welcomes all pet animals recognized as part of a family and are free of charge.
The fauna of Lake Trasimeno
Presence of birds of prey like harrier , eagle owls and osprey. Are also stork, bittern, whooper swan, wigeon, mallard, tufted duck, wild geese, Merganser, knight of Italy, gull, coot, moorhen, grebe. There are also heron with about 2,000 heads.
Areas with more presence of birds are made accessible by permanent observation facilities and electric boat tours with Oasis Valley located in the town of Magione, managed by Legambiente. The boat tour of the oasis of about 1,000 ha is approximately 2 hours and and allows the quiet observation of birds.
